Travel Videos From Now On

It’s my son’s 10th birthday today. As one of my gifts, I decided to edit the old videos I dug up from my hard drives and CDs. I originally wanted to come up with a travel video to celebrate his 10 years of travelling, but I realized I didn’t have that much footage to begin with. So, I ended up using videos that were also shot at home.

I had to learn how to edit in iMovie overnight — cutting frames, laying-in audio, including supers — and it was one tedious task. But, I had fun doing it. It was great to see videos when he was younger and reminisce the good (even the bad) times that we had.

So, without much further ado, here’s the video I worked so hard for in one long night. Hope you’ll have fun watching it as much as I had while doing it. Just in case the video won’t load, here’s a direct link from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgYoO8tN1JA

Because of this video, I know realized how important it is to take them during our trips. Sure, I’ve taken as many photographs as I can to “record” all our trips, but videos can also be an interesting way of remembering past events.

From now on, I’ll make it a point to take videos as well during our trips.

I used to take a lot of videos of lance from my point and shoot camera. It’s so much fun to watch them and look back. But since he dropped the point and shoot I have been taking videos from my iphone. I don’t want to use my nikon naman for videos. Buying a decent video camera is definitely on my to buy list, unless iphone comes up with a really great video editing app.

@ Joy – i’m okay with the point and shoot cam. i don’t need naman the videos to be super hi-res. just enough to record my son’s precious moments. hahaha! how come ur not using ur nikon cam for the video? will it deteriorate the sensor?

@ Gie – thanks so much! i wanted it to be dramatic w/ a slower song, kaso baka yung anak ko mismo, hindi ma-appreciate. hehehe!
